Two Story Cottage

Weediculous

So I have gotten a little behind on lawn maintenance ever since Reid joined the family. Unfortunately my yard is not the kind that can be left alone for 2 months especially in the spring. Mr. C has done a good job of keeping the grass lookin’ good but I have not touched the beds at all and it shows. OH, and nothing says, “welcome” like a pot of dead pansies.

So today I decided to tackle the weeds that were overtaking EVERYTHING.   After an hour it looked much better but I think it will take a couple more sessions to have it looking like it should.  Not to mention I still need to plant annuals for summer!
Check out my weed pile.
FYI – if you have weeds that are really difficult you can use needle nose pliars to pull them.  I know this b/c my yard is full of beautiful oak trees so I always end up with little oak trees that are attempting to invade my beds.  These are TOUGH to get out so I always use pliars.

Check out the trees taking over my bushes below.
Weeds are taking my daylily hostage.
Wow – just what you always wanted- a weed tutorial.  Since that is not so exciting I’ll leave you with these pics I took while working in the yard.  Oh, and baby Reid enjoyed watching the weeding from the front porch in his bouncer.  He loves the fresh air!
Can’t you just smell the gardenia?  My all-time favorite smell.
