I have exciting pictures to share today! I am finally almost done with Lacey’s bedroom. We chose Lacey’s name in part because it means cheerful. She is certainly a happy child and I wanted a cheerful space for her. I envisioned a room that could transition well as she gets older but that also has plenty of “little girl”. Kids grow up too fast these days as it is! Sweet and innocent meets a bit of elegance.
“Her smile beams like sunshine, which fills our hearts with love.” -Birgit B.
The bedding is simple because Lacey is 3.5 and is starting to make her own bed.
The animal quilt was mine as a little girl. It has been patched up many times. :)
We dressed up a couple of her stuffed animals to match the bedding.
Remember the rest of her room?
Toy nook in the corner
Bird art above the closet
All that I used for the bedding was a crib quilt (Land of Nod), my animal quilt and sheets from Company Kids.
What is left you ask?
- Mirror above her dresser
- Chandelier (I’ve got good ideas for this!)
- Bulletin board or shelf above her nightstand (not pictured)
Oh, and I am sharing her room with Serenity Now, Thrifty Decor Chick, Fingerprints on the Fridge, Sugar and Dots, Under the Table and Dreaming, Just A Girl and Shabby Nest.
P.S. Did you know that the Pantone color of 2011 is honeysuckle pink? Lacey’s shutters and accent wall are that very color ! I’m joining a honeysuckle pink party over at CSI Project. Bold and feminine with a hint of sass – honeysuckle pink kicks some ….well, you know.

So sweet, I love that ‘good morning’ pillow!
Such a sweet room! Did you make the headboard? The whole thing looks great. The pink shutters are a very nice touch!
Very cute! Looks so elegant, but still sweet enough for a little girl!
Hi, Erin! I guess you know how much I like this room since I featured it yesterday.
You did such a good job creating a bright and cheerful room that a little girl can grow with.
Love the colors!! Thanks so much for joining my Weekend Bloggy Reading party.
Have fun finding some new reads, and I hope you’ll stop by Serenity Now again soon.

So pretty! Love those cheerful colors! And the animal quilt you had as a child, aww….so sweet!
Adorable!! I love the cheery colors and I especially love the bright pink shutters.
Great job. Beautiful colours and nice mix of old (your quilt!) and new.
I have to shyly admit that this is my first visit to your site and my interest was peaked when I read your Friday Night Light’s comment on the Pleated Poppy just now. My husband and I are completely obsessed (and we’re not even tv people). On Christmas morning I was opening a present and my husband had gotten me a panthers hat and Riggins jersey – hilarious! and my go-to winter skating with the family outfit. so sad it will be over and even more disappointing is why it hasn’t hit hard in popularity. wonderful show, amazing characters and real. Great watching for husband and wife and/or family (with older kids). who’s your favorite?
Her room is so cute! I love how it feels fresh, yet vintage and it will grow with her. You’ve done a wonderful job!
I love her room, so stinkin cute!
I love the shutters, I too am showing off my daughter’s room this year as well and added what her name means. Are little girls the greatest!!! What would life be without them?!?!
What a darling room. I really like the pink touches and the quilts on the bed.
That choked me up a little reading that that’s your old quilt on her bed! So sweet! Then I was laughing so hard at your “sass” poem! You crack me up Erin!!
And what a good idea about the yellow scarf!
Adoring this…..The shutter look so beautiful.
