Dear Friends,
Today was my mom’s birthday and we celebrated at our house! Being Friday, my mom didn’t want to fight the restaurant crowds so we had take-out from our favorite Greek restaurant instead. Yum yum in the tum tum! My mom was extra excited because she is a teacher and her spring break is next week. I still get excited about spring break even though Lacey is only in preschool.
My mom didn’t want a party ”fuss” so I kept the decorating to a minimum. I used flowers to freshen up and a handful of candles for a little ambiance. The flowers were $2.50 per bunch at Harris Teeter (our grocery) and I spent $5. I think you can do the math on that!
Two bunches of flowers
The stems remind me of asparagus! I cut most of the stems way down.
A touch of color.
A very simple arrangement.
I love putting flowers in pitchers!
I couldn’t resist a little “Happy Birthday” but wanted to avoid the traditional sign.
Those are knock-out roses from my bush outside! They have just started blooming.
(Mimi & Lacey) Ice cream pie from Cold Stone. Best ice cream pie ever!
My mom is 58 just in case you think she is 40 and had me at age 10. She looks really young and always has! It drives me crazy but she likes it of course. I have always looked younger than my age but I’m not old enough to appreciate it yet. She certainly doesn’t look like a grandmother (Mimi) of two!

How sweet! Love the simplicity of your little celebration. Sometimes less is more.
She looks like a sweet and lovely Mimi! Happy Birthday! My mom’s bday is in a couple of days! We’re celebrating tomorrow!
Sweet floral arrangements and decorations, tastefully done!
xo
