Two Story Cottage

Cupcake Themed Baby Shower

Dear Friends,
Two words.  Cupcake party.  Who doesn’t love cupcakes??  My sister, Emily, just co-hosted a cupcake themed baby shower in her home.  She went all out and it was the cutest baby shower I have attended.  It took a booty-load of planning but check out the result.

A warm welcome

She made the sign with scrapbook paper and ribbon.

DIY wreath – cut pieces of fabric knotted around a foam core
The wreath was a gift for the Mom-to-be.  It matches her nursery.

Homemade diaper cake

The hostesses made over 400 miniature cupcakes.

They used box mixes that they halved for each flavor.  Some flavors had add-ins.
The icing was store bought but piped with several different types of tips.

 My personal favorite…

The details really make such a difference!  They look like they came from a bakery.

Salted caramel.  MMmm.

 Beautiful punch

Macaroni & cheese + tomato = heaven

 Salad for a little balance

Onesies made with iron-on cupcakes

Cupcake mixes were prizes for the games.

Speaking of games – a celebrity baby match quiz

The hostesses with the Mom-to-be

Everyone got to take a box of cupcakes home as a favor.

I told you it was amazing!  Cupcakes are always fun.  Sorry if I made you hungy. :)

Hi i absolutely luv the cupcake shower! I am having my babyshower in 1 month and its also a cupcake theme. I was wondering if you have the recipe for the punch? I would love to make it for my babyshower. Thanks in advance :)

    • Thanks for stopping by! Good luck with your shower. The punch recipe is pretty standard…

1 can (6 ounces) frozen pink lemonade concentrate, thawed
1 bottle (32 ounces) cranberry juice cocktail, chilled
2cans (12 ounces each) ginger ale, chilled

Make lemonade and mix with cranberry juice and ginger ale. Add fruit. The fruit is what makes it extra pretty! :)

I am throwing the same themed shower and was wondering where you found the ribbon on the mixes, the streamers and the iron-ons. Thanks!

    • My sister found the ribbon at Hobby Lobby but she also saw it later at Michaels as well. The iron-ons are from etsy.com and there are a lot of different sellers. On the mantel it does look like streamers but that is actually just the ribbon! Hope that helps. :)

Thanks for the info! Do you know which seller on Etsy? There are tons and I can’t find them! Thanks!

    • You are welcome! The name of the etsy account is appliqueheaven but Emily got 25 cupcake appliques for pretty cheap because it was a “moving out” sale. I looked at her store today and didn’t see any other cupcakes. Don’t know if they can do more or not but you can always ask!

  4. I was wondering if you would be so kind as to share the Jar contents. I would love to make up some jars like this as raffle prizes and every time I do a search I get actual cupcakes baked in jars..lol. Thanks!

  5. Hi Erin,

  8. I’m hosting a baby shower with a cupcake theme. Love all your ideas. Did you make the sign yourself?

    • My sister did make the sign herself. She used poster board, markers, and a yard sign from Lowe’s. Thanks for stopping by!
