Tablescape Christmas Edition

Dear Friends,
We are lying low today to get ready for the crazy week ahead.  Programs, parades, and parties are on the agenda and we need to be ready to hit the ground running come tomorrow.  I’m attending a tablescape party over at Layla’s this afternoon but luckily I can do that in my sweats from the comfort of our playroom.

I host a brunch for our family on Christmas morning so I thought I would set the table as if it were tomorrow.  (Thank goodness it isn’t!)  This will be our first time eating in the dining room at the new house!  I’m so glad it is finished so that we can enjoy it on Christmas Day.

The only other Christmas decorations in the room are a Peacock wreath on the mirror and a few snowflakes on the bird chandelier. (see below)

I was excited to decorate in the dining room because it is the only place in the house that I can really use the more “natural” elements that seem to be all the rage this year.  The rest of my house looks like candy-land but the children really enjoy that.
I bought the tabletop trees from Target and the wreath at HomeGoods but everything else I already had.  The sand dollars (hard to spot) were from our beach trip in September.  The greenery was from our yard.
The snowflake ornaments would make good favors but since I’m hosting family I’ll probably get them back.  I’m a grinch like that.  Also, I could have used some placemats but didn’t have any.  I may get some by then!   I’ve got time, right??
