Spring Mantel {Vignette}

Dear Friends,
       Is there anything more lovely than spring?  The daylight gives my spirit a boost and I’m dizzy with anticipation for what is to come.  Or maybe it is the Claritin talking.   Either way I’m giddy for spring.

I finally took down the winter decor.  Any hope of a March snow disappeared with the record high temperatures. I turned my console table into a mantel for spring.  I went a little bird-crazy this go around but I’m a sucker for my feathered friends.

No shopping for this one!  I used elements I already had.  I got the ceramic bird from Michael’s last year. The hanging birds are Christmas ornaments from Target.  I used burlap to make a nest for the bluebird. It is wrapped around the wreath as well.   I made the pennant using scrapbook paper scraps and bakers twine.  The vase holds a combination of natural and faux elements.

Last year’s mantel is featured on the Better Homes & Garden website (BHG.com).  I’m still pinching myself about that.

I don’t know about you but spring makes me smile.  And sneeze.

P.S.  Thanks for all of the kind words on my Gathered Thoughts post.  I so appreciate it.  :)
