Sweet Little or "Big" Girl Bedrooms

Dear Friends,
I’m tired today.  Sometimes I think May is as busy as December.  Thank goodness for Friday!  I’m dreaming of little girl rooms this afternoon.  Lacey’s is 90% done so I don’t particularly need inspiration but I’m stuck on the subject.   I have one stipulation when it comes to a room for a little one.  It must be sweet.  Little girls grow up too fast these days so I like to save the tween stuff for later.  Also, there must be plenty of “kid lives here” in the mix.  Sans the explosion of Dora and the princesses.  They can stay on the nightgown.

The rest of the room is adorable!  So many fantastic details and so much love went into this space.

Finding the source of this one was a beast.  It has been all over pinterest and for good reason!  I just love that color combo.

This one is a show-stopper.  From the Ikea built-ins to the pink stripes it manages to be elegant and sweet at the same time.

From Southern Living,  I dog-eared this in an old magazine.   I adore the bed and the lamps!

I love the accent wall and the shutters.  And the painted floors – ahhh.  No little girl stuff but I couldn’t resist the cottage beauty.

The bed & the dresser are winners for sure.  So cottage-y sweet.

Colorful, fun, and full of personality! Be sure to check out the rest of the room.

Decorating a room for a girl is just, plain fun.  I love that Lacey is old enough to have an opinion on things.  I’m trying to tailor her space to her personality.  She loves her “new” dresser although she was doubting me during my big mess-up.  I was doubting myself so I forgive her.

We have a sweet, little chandelier going in next week.  Getting closer …

  1. Hi Erin – gorgeous links, thanks so much! I have to say that the first room in your post does it for me. Still girlie but with a hint of ‘grown up’ ! Can’t wait to see what you all decide on! lol x ♥

  2. I like your philosophy about little girls’ rooms! My Will turned 21 this week–believe me, I’m really glad I let him be a little boy for as long as I could. I would think this would be even more true for a girl; seems that they grow up even faster than boys.

I hope Lacey’s turns out to be just what you were aiming for. I have confidence in you!

  3. I love the first room you posted, although all are fantastic, I thought the first was perfection.

  4. Totally agree with you on how little girls rooms should be. Keep Dora on the nightgown but have it be plenty girly. 🙂

  5. Thanks for any other informative site. Where else may I am getting that type of information written in such a perfect manner?
I’ve a mission that I’m simply now working on, and I have been at the look out for such information.

  6. You need to take part in a contest for one of the greatest blogs on the net.

I most certainly will recommend this site!
