Winter Decorating {Decor that Carries Over}

Dear Friends,
Maybe it is the lack of snow, but I’m drawn to winter decor right now.  I’m not much of a seasonal decorator but I’m realizing that a few minor items can make an impact. When putting away the Christmas things, I picked through the bins to find winterish things without the distinctly holiday look. Snowflakes are an obvious choice but there are plenty of other things that can add a winter flair.

Glitter.  Silver.  Sparkles.  White.  Fur.
Not just for Christmas anymore, the boxwood wreath is here to stay.
A homemade snow-man and a rustic snowflake add a pop of winter color.
Scented pine cones were an After-Christmas Target bargain.  They feel wintery to me.
The eucalyptus with berries carries the holiday feel over.

Rather than completely clear my Christmas table- scape, I did a little revamping and traded the no-longer-lovely hydrangeas for fake-o white flowers.  I’m not a big fan of faux but these are growing on me.   A few snowflakes replaced the Christmas elements.   I did put away all the dishes so it is a much cleaner feel.
Mercury glass seems like a year-round deal to me.
Snow on the beach.  What a pretty picture that would be.

A few little details and one winter mantel has given me the snow-bug.  We didn’t get a single flake last year and I’m still bitter.  It didn’t help that Santa brought Lacey a sled so I’m crossing my fingers that we get at least one snow day this season!
