Two Story Cottage

Little Girl Toy Nook

Lacey’s room is almost finished.  It has not made an appearance on this blog yet because it is a work in progress.  Wait – the theme of this blog is work in progress.  Oops.  Let’s make a deal, shall we?  I’ll show you a completed part of her room and the rest of it I’ll post soon. Really soon.

The Toy Nook – TA DA!

The previous owners of the house bumped out the wall next to Lacey’s closet into the space over the garage.  Thus a little nook is created.  Lacey’s crib was actually in that nook until she was old enough for a big girl bed (almost a year ago-sniff).   I love that they did that because it makes the room seem so much bigger.  It is actually pretty small (think one twin bed & a chest of drawers).
We chose the yellow wall color before Lacey was born.  I thought though that for her big girl room we could really make the accent wall pop with the pink.  The pink is color matched to her nightstand which I will show with the rest of the room very soon.

I love the monogram.  I got it from Three Hip Chicks.  It was super easy to put up although it did take a while.  The curtains are PB Kids and I got them on CLEARANCE.  I am a PB Kids clearance stalker.  I hung them with a shower curtain rod.  They don’t make regular curtain tension rods long enough (that I could find anyway) but the shower rod works great.  I added the textured wallpaper and moulding with the help of my dear sister.  It is similar to beadboard wallpaper- just a different pattern.  It was cheapo at the Depot so I bought it.  Wait – it was Lowes.  Oh well.  The ribbon is from Michael’s.

I like the fact that Lacey’s toys are in one space.   Function + pretty = perfection in my book.

Before pics…
Before the monogram & one last coat of paint

Happy Friday!
