Two Story Cottage

Gallery Wall

Dear Friends,

The gallery wall in the entry is finished and I’m just a little bit over the moon about it.  The foyer has been a gathering space for a multitude of frames & decor while I worked on this.  I kept changing my mind because I just couldn’t figure out what I wanted.  I did several patterns on the floor but just couldn’t commit.  One day I finally got it.  Voila!

The framed pictures are paternal and maternal grandparents as well as parents.  The gallery frames are from Pottery Barn but I already had them.  The beech color was on clearance several years ago and I picked several up.  The mahogany color frames were purchased more recently.  The mirror came from Target several years ago.  It was from the Michael Graves collection.   The grandmother clock is new from Pier 1.  I already owned the little sconces.  The bowl is pottery from Stewart’s in Waxhaw (already had).

At some point I really want some kind of wall treatment on the gallery wall but I’m not there yet.  I can’t tell you how nice it feels to have the foyer and dining room at a point where I am happy with them.  I still have some ideas for both but I’m feeling like I can move on now!  Also, when people come to the front door I don’t have to hide.

On another note, today is World Prematurity Awareness Day.  Because Reid was born early, we are more aware of the work that March Of Dimes does to promote healthy babies.   Although he was just a few weeks early we have dealt with a host of “preemie issues” that have required therapy.  Our newest is gagging during mealtime which leads to projectile vomiting.   Yum.  We are very lucky though and we know it!  We may be navigating balance and sensory issues but he is a walking, talking almost two year old which is a blessing.  Say a special prayer tonight for preemie babies & their families past and present!

Is it Friday yet?  🙂

I’m hitting the blog party circuit for the first time in forever…woohoo!
