Two Story Cottage

Kitchen Reveal, Finally {Woohoo!}

Dear Friends,
Finally, I’m ready to show-off the “new” kitchen.  It is amazing what two coats of paint, a couple of pendant shades, and a few accessories will do.  That being said, I opted not to swap the fixture over the island.  I’m thinking on it for a bit before making any decisions.

DURING (with addition of china cabinet)

Such a huge change and I didn’t even paint a single cabinet.  I am borderline ecstatic about the whole thing.  It feels like mine and because the house is so open it has really transformed the feel of our home.  It is making me crazy- inspired to work on everything else!

* Edited to Add:  There is a kitchen update post here

Information on lighting is here.

Breakfast room is here.
China Cabinet addition is here.

Paint is Hazy Skies by Benjamin Moore.

Still considering:
*Lantern over island?
*rug in breakfast room
*ceiling treatment (maybe down the road)

I’m attending link parties this week!

Woohoo!

  3. The heck with borderline–go ahead, be completely ecstatic!! It’s wonderful, Erin! I love the way you’ve achieved that cottagy feel without painting the cabinets white. I’m amazed at it, actually! I have loved, loved, loved my kitchen for a long time, and I still like the maple cupboards. But I’ve been longing not have something other than stained wood cupboards (a little silly considering that my kitchen is great, but still. There it is. No you’ve inspired me simply to think about changing the wall color and some lighting. I dunno. . . this would be a big painting job. But you’ve inspired me. Who knows?

Anyway, enough about me. Back to you. Your kitchen is absolutely, positively smashing. Way to go!!

  4. I love the lighter color Erin! Your kitchen is looks so much brighter. Love the new lights!

  5. It’s great! I love the new lights! 🙂

  6. Wow Erin, what a difference! I think it’s definitely the colour of the walls that have made it so light and airy! It just goes to show that less is always more when it comes to revamping a room. Well done, it’s stunning! lol x

  19. The kitchen is gorgeous. So much so, that I want to copy it, somewhat. I thougt those walls were light green. But, when I look up “hazy skies” , it says it is a gray. Does it look more gray or more green in person

    • Hazy Skies definitely has a green tone! I was surprised too when I first used it because I had seen pics on Pinterest where it looked light gray/almost white. My friend just used it in her family room and it looks green there too. I actually got that gallon from Benjamin Moore so it wasn’t even color- matched elsewhere. Good question, Amelia! Thanks for stopping by. Good luck with your kitchen. Come back & let me know how it goes. 🙂

  20. Hi,I love these kind of socks and I love cupcake-y things.
